Today, I took a bold step towards my future by finalizing and submitting my proposal to the Peer Recovery Services at The Wellness Centers of San Joaquin County. The proposal outlined a multifaceted position combining the roles of Classroom Content Provider, Retention Specialist, Lead Recovery Coach Trainer, and Classroom Auditor. With the proposal in hand, I presented it to the higher-ups, eagerly anticipating their response.

Crafting the proposal was an exercise in articulating my skills, passion, and dedication to the organization's goals. I carefully detailed the responsibilities and benefits of the proposed position, highlighting how it would contribute to the growth and success of Peer Recovery Services. The various roles within the position, such as developing educational materials, enhancing member retention, training recovery coaches, and ensuring classroom quality, demonstrated my versatility and commitment to supporting individuals on their recovery journeys.

As I handed over the proposal, a mix of excitement and apprehension filled me. This document represented not only a potential job opportunity but also a manifestation of my aspirations and belief in my ability to make a positive impact. I recognized that the outcome was uncertain, but I remained hopeful that the higher-ups would see the value and potential in the proposed position.

Attached to the proposal was my updated resume, showcasing my relevant experience as a Volunteer Trainer & Content Creator, Peer-to-Peer Facilitator, Jewelry Designer, and Media Buyer. Each role had provided me with valuable skills and knowledge that directly applied to the multifaceted position I was proposing. It was essential for the decision-makers to understand the breadth of my background and expertise.

Now, as I reflect on the day, I find solace in knowing that I have taken a significant step towards pursuing my passion and finding a role that aligns with my skills and aspirations.

Regardless of the outcome, I am proud of myself for having the courage to present my ideas and advocate for a position that could benefit both the organization and the individuals it serves.
